Ethan Young is an award-winning cartoonist, prolific cover artist, and character designer for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man on Disney+.
Born and raised in NYC, Ethan took to drawing at the age of 3 and never looked back. He inherited a love of comics from his older brother. Ethan attended LaGuardia High School for Art and Music, and attended one year of SVA before leaving to pursue self-publishing.
Ethan's notable graphic novels include NANJING: The Burning City (winner of the 2016 Reuben Award for Best Graphic Novel, along with Eisner and Harvey nominations), The Dragon Path, Space Bear, Life Between Panels, and an adaptation of The 39 Clues: The Maze of Bones by NYT Bestseller Rick Riordan.
Ethan has also contributed to comic anthologies FIREFLY: Watch How I Soar and COMIC BOOK TATTOO: Tales Inspired by Tori Amos.
As a prolific cover artist, Ethan has done covers for virtually every American comic publisher, providing cover art for titles such as Nightwing, Action Comics, X-Men, Spectacular Spider-Man, and many more.
Ethan works mostly in traditional pen and ink. Over the years he has shifted from using brush and nib to calligraphy pens and archival pens.
In addition to comic book work, Ethan is currently a character designer on Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man at Marvel Studios, and also worked on three FXX cartoons: Major Lazer, Golan the Insatiable, and Axe Cop.
Ethan is also debuting his creator-owned action-horror series Demon Run in 2026, self-published and self-distributed.
